What is Technolife
Technolife is a research project funded by European Union that aims at creating a debate on ethical issues relating to body and mind enhancement technologies.
We all know that early enthusiasm about new technologies often avoids difficult ethical, legal, economic, social and environmental considerations. We also know that existing mechanisms for understanding and debating this are insufficient and new ways must be found for a greater number of voices to be heard within our social, political and regulatory systems.
To respond to this problem, we are interested in personal and occupational views from all different sectors of society. We have set up an experimental deliberation tool and our goal is to discover new ways to improve participation in discussing and debating the future of our technologically sophisticated world.
The main goal of TECHNOLIFE is to develop new ways to improve the participation in debating about ethical, legal, economic, social and environmental impacts of new technologies.
The outcomes of the project will be presented to high-level policy makers within the European Union.
Who are we
We (the Technolife research team) are social scientists and ethicists participating in debates about the social and environmental aspects of emerging technologies.
We think that existing mechanisms for understanding and debating novel technologies are insufficient, and that new ways must be found for a greater number of voices to be heard within our political and regulatory systems.
